
BIOGRAPHY
Puerto Rican soprano Nadya Rachid is a versatile performer with experience in recital, operatic, popular, and choral repertoire. She is deeply passionate about vocal health and the expressive power of text in music.

Ms. Rachid has performed internationally, including appearances at the Palais Ehrbarsaal in Vienna, St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Il Centro Eventi Il Maggiore in Italy, and the Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce in Puerto Rico. Operatic credits include Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi (Si parla, si canta, Italy), the Baker and Beggar in the Vienna premiere of Paul Richards’ Mondo Novo, and chorus work in Boston University’s productions of The Rake’s Progress and La Traviata. She has also covered the role of Zerlina in Don Giovanni and performed opera scenes as Mercédès in Carmen (Boston University Opera Workshop).

She has participated in various pre-professional programs such as the Vienna Summer Music Festival and Si parla, si canta in Italy, working with artists including Evelyn Schörkhuber, Jennifer Davison, Kirsten Chambers, Jeffrey Gall, Benton Hess, and the late Enza Ferrari. Earlier training includes the NYU Steinhardt Classical Voice Intensive and Berklee in Puerto Rico.

A graduate of Boston University’s School of Music, where she was a College of Fine Arts Merit Scholar, Ms. Rachid studied under James Demler and worked extensively in opera, art song, and choral repertoire, performing twice at Boston’s Symphony Hall. Her musical journey began at age seven with the San Juan Children’s Choir, where she discovered her love for languages and music interpretation.

Fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian, and currently teaching herself French and German, Ms. Rachid combines her background in voice with graduate studies in Speech-Language Pathology. She maintains a private teaching studio in Puerto Rico while completing an advanced clinical practicum toward her master’s degree.
